about becoming what you feel inside
YOU HAVE SEEN
PART ONE
BECOMING

Turn away from the sun,
Away from the light.
And into a place where shadows are
Where shadows dance and fight

Play your pretty music
Sing your nice songs
‘Cause I am in the darkness
Here to pull you along

When I come to visit,
Don’t lock your door.
I am here already
Underneath the floor

Can’t you see me standing here?
All prettiness and light
I can see you, looking
Wanting with all your might

When it’s cold out,
When the moon is at its crest
Watch me slowly walk past
I’m hunting, on a quest

Have you seen the bells?
They don’t ring out anymore,
The shadows have got to them
They’re lying broken on the floor.

The silence of the children,
Gone out looking for a rest
You cry, looking in the mirror frame
Say you; it’s for the best

I know the way I feel
Did I ever lie?
Never would I tell you false,
I was there for your last sigh.

Knocking on the window frame.
Haunting through the night,
Here we are waiting
We never really gave you fright

The stars are a twinkling,
They’re high up, in the sky
You pray that it will go away
That the end is not nigh

I know your inner fears
They bring me great joy
Watch you through the keyhole
To me you’re just a toy

Look at me, you see me
Standing here in the sun
I see your gaze averted
And I realize its not in fun

Can’t you understand
This is me, inside
There’s no, seeing the light
I’ve had enough of your pride.

Looking through the branches
Peering through the cracks
Don’t bother me with niceties
It’s not the need, but the lack

I can see your image
Burnt into my mind
Am I guilty, to blame?
I know of you and your kind

Sometimes in the dead of night
I think of what I’ve lost
Of candy canes, and sugar plums
My hearts not covered in frost

Check your reflection
Look really well
Because right around the corner here,
We’re going to drag you into hell

The clock, its tick goes on
The mice, they eat the cheese
But something in the corner
It stopped it all with ease

I never really knew you
Did I ever care,
You saw me through the window
And I felt your stare

It’s not all happy
It’s not all bright
Because hiding in the crevasses
Hiding from the light

We are here to get you
Tear you far away
From everything you wanted
Will it hurt much? It may

The fear and the pain
You brought it on yourself
Why can’t you believe who’s knocking,
You’re not saved; it’s not a case of wealth

There is guilt here, and anger
I feel it in my heart,
How can’t you see this?
Hurry, soon I must depart

Sitting on the window frame
Gazing at the sky
I am free and whole
Ready to take off and fly
