A poem about recovery and spirituality |
Tell me please, I beg of you, what I can do to somehow help you out I’ve been through this, I know how to quit, why is it you still doubt? That my motive is pure, this isn’t about me, and it never was Like you, I have struggled through life, and I know it is because We were made with a special room in our heart, a place for God to live To keep Him inside us, so He could guide us, but praise we did not give God gave us all free will, He won’t live where He is not wanted For this very reason is why our lives have become so haunted We are stubborn and headstrong, sometimes we think we know all This independence from Him is the very reason that we always fall We try and fill that empty room, find something that will fit Drugs, Sex, Eating, Gambling, but they only work for a bit So we begin to mix them up, inventing all kinds of dangerous combinations This emptiness, confusion, and despair we feel creating the devils invitation I have got some really great news, there is a way out of this mess Just ask God back in your heart and your life He will begin to bless In Gods eyes, above you, more important than you… there are none He will always leave the ninety-nine, to go and save… the one |
