Just when you think you've escaped it, the past will come back to haunt you.
Haunting ghosts of yesterday,
dragging up dead memories.
Monsters of tomorrow,
threaten a promising dream.

They don't work together;
In fact, these two evils
work agianst each other
hating one another.

But, despite their hatred,
these evils are very similar
causing destruction and heartache
whenever they appear.

The ghost of yesterday,
perhapes the most misleading,
loves to appear and act
like he never left.

But this most misleading one
may just be the most dissapointing.
For just when you think
he's here to stay, he leaves again.

And the monster of tomorrow,
he's the one that'll break your heart,
promising to be there forever.
And yet tomorrow he'll leave you too

Despite their frequent abandonments,
they always return to haunt you again.
The ghost, he returns every month or so
while the monster will be back tomorrow.

The ghost will bring an illusion
of a friendship that once existed
but became too fractured
to be put back together.

Despite the knowledge
of a most shattered firendship,
the idea of fixing this broken promise
will give even the bitterest person hope.

And the monster, who comes and goes
so frequently and without fail,
brings the promise of forever
and a future full of love.

How can anyone pass up
this promise that every girl dreams of?
But what comes with such a lovely dream
is a nightmare of heartache.

And without fail, the moster and ghost will return,
despite their active dislike for one another.
Both claiming the other is the evil one
while together they can cause the strongest one,
to break
