Just a simple romance poem I suppose |
My gazing eyes pierce deep into the sea of stars As they fall across the beauty of your lone cosmos Those eyes are my Eden and fall gracefully on my face Yet those eyes will be disenchanted at the fleshy mortal before them The frail creature bathed in the moon’s light Yet they will never attain the knowledge of my private love as I will never attain their grace They will never see the scars of my exposed heart Yet to have healed or go away Never know all I wish is to be admired under the gaze of those eyes Never capable of comprehending all I have sacrificed on my voyage through the stars The feeling of watching your own soul beaten down Having fell into a hole of perpetual darkness Watching as it lay bleeding like a waterfall on the floor When those eyes can perceive this pain then they will finally cry as I’ve cried They will finally pour tears of blood to make up for all I have lost on my quest I’ve paid my price and nothing will stop me on my journey to those eyes In all the infinite knowledge I could obtain I demand only one answer I demand those eyes reveal to me what I must sacrifice As I may yet attain their love and grace They may yet travel through my mind to the star that I left to shine To view the islands in my sea of dreams Realizing those eyes were all I loved in this dying world Realizing that no measure could ever come close to my love Yet the word love has long since died and turned to dust All meaning gone for the pleasures of lust Maybe together we can attain a place in the stars A couple on the path through the nights stars Yet as you hold me close my retention arose Like the sun at dusk you fell away For my scars will never heal and will never go away No sacrifice I can make will ever allow me to mount the sky No sacrifice to pay the cost of attaining Eden’s eye My eternal faith forever shattered by the impossibility of our love All will be destined to face one fact In the end all will fade to black |
