Lovelorn

Hopelessly adrift upon a sea of despair;
Empty and desolate mourning loves cruel trick
All around nature explodes into life
Whilst I wither and fade and crumble into dust
I lay entombed within my pain
My heart sundered by fates icy dagger
Bitter tears flow down my face

She drifted away from me,
Leaving my soul shattered in her wake
Her farewell was like a death knell,
A death knell to all hope
She who I adore above all
She turned me out into the wild forest,
The realm of wolves and shadows

The cold wind howls across the world,
Its chill voice crying out mockingly
The crows circling the once mighty tower of my heart,
Singing a dirge to unrequited love.
