The morning I woke to find you lying there, looking at me with your golden hazel eyes glinting in the early sun; you laid so close to me; your eyes were deep in thought. I treasured that moment, I held you close to my heart. There was never a time I felt more connected with someone than when I was with you.
I felt like I had been sitting on this pier my whole life; dangling my feet over the wooden edge, looking down at the swirling water below me. The man next to me, with his washed out green cap and crumpled vest, sighed in frustration gazing into the horizon. Looking up he gave me a wary smile, his face creased with hardship. The sky above was as clear as the water below. The piercing sun hung high in the sky, blistering down upon the heaving beach below. The craving people pushing through the crowds, hungry for a spot of beach making it seem as if the beach itself was almost alive with energy, shifting to and throw, shimmering in the heat.
