Pen

This pen
it should be a key
to unlock some sort of hidden door
in me

but it's not

This pen is just here
being a pen
with good balance
and a cool clip

I didn't buy it
design it
or even find it

Really, it's asking too much
for this pen
to clear away the block
sitting dark in my mind for ages like rock

Still...

I had hopes
that this time
something would change

an attractive pen
and accessible paper
would lead to alchemy
producing gold of the writer's heart

but it doesn't

This pen is just here
being a pen
with good color
and a nice grip

I'm opening no great unexplored land
only sitting as an ordinary girl with a pen
in hand
