Kidnapped by a vagabond
Locked in a tower high
With that scoundrel
Proving his cruelty
While waiting for my knight
Listening for the sounds
Of his fiery steed
But only silence throughout
What is taking so long,
Where could he be?
Did he get lost on the way?
Did his horse throw a shoe?
Was there no armor that'd fit?
Were all the weapons broke,
With no one to fix 'em?
Running out of time
And trying to fight
Buying myself little respite
Far too quickly overpowered
By evil in that hideous night
The tears stream down my face
And the sheets twist 'round my legs
Dripping with sweat, trembling with fear
Caught up in the nightmare
That I can't escape
Woken by the morning sun,
And no evil to be seen
Just a dream, like anyone's-
But why, in my dreams,
Do the knights never come?
