Silently the world yells in my ear, Punishing me before I commit a crime.
Silently the world yells in my ear,
Punishing me before I commit a crime.
Questions plague this horrid life—
A life worthy of death?

Forever lost in a world of sin,
I walk a thin line between Heaven and Hell.
Giving in means never turning back,
Giving up means never knowing love.

To follow my heart means persecution,
Burned at the stake for all to see.
Who would stand by me?
I can’t see them through this fog in my head.

Is this secret I hold so dear,
    even a secret at all?
Does everyone know the answer,
    even before I?

They judge me for hiding—for lying,
They too tighten this noose around my throat.

As soon as I tell, I sin, I leap,
Off to the guillotine I go.
Even in death I feel torment,
Because my soul remains—
A soul no God would touch.
