in winter’s fire glow?

And who, but I, will reach my hand?
Before we go to bed?
To hug your living warmth to me,
and pat your wrinkled head?

I love to walk pine barren paths,
and see, ahead of me,
your small form racing with the wind,
so young, so sweet, so free.

So much fun we call our own,
your ruffs, they rain with love.
And wagging of your stubby butt,
I’m undeserving of.

But yet, we share a private smile,
in every look we pass.
You live to fill your world with me,
my little Molly lass.
