A poem about how friendship does not end. It's a little angsty.
Friendship

Friendship doesn't die with a friend
It sticks around far past the end
It stays in your heart and mind,
Because that's how memories are designed.
They can make you laugh, make you cry.
Yet remain as beautiful as a butterfly.

When a friend passes it leaves a mark
And the place you're in at that time can feel very dark
As though you've fallen down a deep hole,
And landed on top of a spike tipped pole,
With no idea how you could possibly survive
But you have no choice, you must remain alive.

As years go by your appreciation grows
And the memories are sweeter than flowering meadows
Just as quickly as grief sets in
Life continues and you have to grin
Appreciating the friendship which you had
So when you remember you're no longer sad.
