This is a re-done verison of the 1st poem I ever posted on here.
Years have passed and yet I wonder,
If I had kissed your lips would I have eased your pain?
I used to walk you home,
I was hanging on your every word,
Through the good and the bad,
I always walked with you,
never asking to hold your hand.
I never knew what to say,
even on those nights when you asked me to stay.
Time has gone by and we have drifted apart,
Yet when I hear that one song,
I still think you,
And all we went through
Friends until the end,
I still have feelings from the 12th grade I wish I would have penned.
Don't feel sorry for me as I stand in the rain,
it was I who should have eased your pain.
