My Dark Teenage Angst

My hair is such a wreck today
My cell phone has just died
The internet has gone offline
And my nerves are oh so fried

My boyfriend just broke up with me
I never have a date
That girl said things behind my back
And I just can't learn to skate

I hate everyone and everything
My life is such a mess
My parents don't understand my needs
I don't fit in this dress

The human race is so unkind
They're greedy and they're mean
I wish we could just get along
Like that song "Lean On Me"

Now I'll change the tone I took
For one of frank disdain
These complaints that I have listed
Compose what drive me half insane

Children starve and soldiers die
people live with less and less
Chronic disease plagues thousands more
And I shall not digress

You're lucky and you're so well off
You have no direct idea
You have health, wealth and love
That some people only dream of

So complain about your face and hair
And that your boyfriend is a twit
I have just one little thing to say
