The hated friend

Lonely is my hated friend

It never leaves my side

It clings to me all of the days and nights

It only goes when loved ones come near

It wells in my eyes

And it hurts my heart, my soul, and my spirit

Yet it loves me

It burrows deep into my chest

But it loves others too

Loves those near and far from me

Burdening them with the shallow weight to bare

Those strong enough to withstand its company

Move on from it, leaving it behind

Becoming a stronger person

Starting a new beginning inside
