Will you be remembered when you're gone?
Where I fit

I stand in the foot prints of giants
Just to see how I compare, and I don’t even come close
I nestle in the rim of the heel and sleep
And I fade into darkness as I weep
For I can never fill these testaments to them being here
For when I go, It won't be to thousands of spectators
Shedding tears for my lost
It will just be me, dirt, and the after life
No one will even know I’m gone until my body is already cold in the ground
And the rain has fallen and raised flowers on my mound
They say that every life and every death tells a story
But the most told story is that of being forgotten
Books are filled with those who did bad, good, and great things
But they would have to cut down every tree
Just to write the names of people who lived ordinary lives
Walked in the shade everyday of their lives
And didn’t shake the pillars of heaven
Every pencil would be wore down to the nub
And every pen would run dry
With the names of people who came and went
Who one day was here, and the next just gone
And as I wake inside this massive foot print
I wonder where do I fit
As I stand and the sun hits my face
I climb out of the hole and stand next to it
In the mud I stamp my own foot print
In hope that even though its not as big
That it will somehow be remembered as well
