Wolf's Song

Silence rings and cherubs weep
As into light the dark doth creep
And rosy color slowly sweeps
Away into the night.

As silver moonlight strikes the glade
And sunlit shadows start to fade
The wolf begins his serenade
To welcome in the night.

Drums join in with pounding beat
As his songs again repeat
And beckon all to come and meet
To welcome in the night.

“Nocturnal creatures heed the call
Come and join this wondrous ball
Let’s dance and sing-Come one, come all
And welcome in the night!”
