About a girl on a string,
life has become a stage
with his eyes my only audience
waiting, watching
for something good
something to smile about
every day's a rehearsal
repeating lines
over
and
over
until every word is  right
until life becomes the play
and I become the actress
his puppet

he's working on his review
it's what he's been waiting for
all to tell me what I've done wrong
so I can run frantically back
start over
try again
carve out a new act
cut everything that makes you cringe
shorten my strings
