What It's like to lose someone you love
As I sit with thoughts of a dear friend
I often wonder why'd it have to end?
What did she do? Where did she go?
When will I see her? How will I know?
Then out of no-where a star fell from the sky
I started to make a wish as a tear fell from my eye.
Only seconds had passed and there stood before me
my closest best friend yet an angel to be.

"God has sent me only with visions from your head,
to leave you with happiness," and then she said,
"Yesterday is gone and tomorrow will never come,
although both of us will see the rising sun.
I still see, while I am here,
Thoughts of me are often followed by a tear.
I wish so much you wouldn't cry
For some day you will even know why.
Why I hope you'll always think of me
as a friend, not just a memory.
When we'll be together, only time will tell.
Just live your own life and spend your time well.
Seems like only yesterday our good times took place,
with a diamond in my eye and a smile upon your face.
Where did they go? I want you to know
that an angel came and took my hand and started a new show.
A begining and an end... how it seems so sad,
but, my friend, once you're here it's the best you've ever had.
Think of my love and our past will always be true,
and if you ever start to forget you know just what to do.
By you bedside is where your kneel,
and in your soul my spirit you'll feel.
Remember these words and we'll never be apart,
for everytime you think of me, I'm right here in you heart."

Then my friend was called to home far, far above
and when she left I could feel a touch of her love.
Nothing else was said or even left to do,
I knew right then I, myself, would be there soon.
Maybe not today or maybe not tomorrow,
but until then there would be no sorrow.
For I also knew that along the way,
there would be no longing for yesterday!
