This is a poem about my dog who has since passed on to the great bone yard in the sky.
I am an English Springer.
My breed is full of whit.
Please do not confuse me
with my cousin called a "Brit".
I love to run and chase the birds,
For this I am real good.
Sometimes I like to chase a ball
And do the things I should.
My colors are those of liver and white.
My tail is brown and short.
I often strain at the end of my leash
And keep it very taught.
My masters sometimes have to yell
And make me mind their commands.
If only they would feed me more,
I exceed to their demands.
I like to sleep and lay around
And chew on different things.
Bones and balls and wooden toys
Are among my favorite things.
Pick me up and hold me.
Give me lots of hugs.
I'll really be your best friend
And I won't chew up the rugs.
