One nightmare gave birth to a fear that tore me apart.
The Fear of Losing Him
February 15, 2007

Beneath the dimming stars,
The quiet nights and dreams,
All has shattered into mere shards
That slice and make me bleed.

A nightmare locked within,
No one shall ever know.
The fear of never having him again,
Oh, will it never cease to grow!

I see him daily,
Each time the better he looks.
Each night I lie awake wailing,
For my heart some one took.

I feared that he would move on,
And alone I would stand.
Now she has come along,
And holding his precious hand.

Now again I am alone.
Memories only haunt me.
From his eyes that shone,
To his kiss forever sweet.

But is my life without meaning?
Was it all for naught?
Was the pain worth the leaving?
What more have I got?

He isn’t missing me,
But oh I miss him so!
This is harder than I had foreseen,
But I suppose I must let him go.
