Inspirational Poem that will open your eyes.
I awoke one morning

And thought to kneel and pray

But then was called to breakfast

And quickly walked away

I got to school at 8:05

5 minutes after the bell

I thought, It’s just one tardy

Not like I’ll go to Hell

After school I said to mom

I’m going with a friend

But I lied to her

And went to the party instead

Afterwards I left the party

Around 12 o’ clock or one

I said some things I shouldn’t have

And did some things I shouldn’t have done

That night before I went to bed

I thought the beg forgiveness

For all the things I’d done and said

That weren’t exactly righteous

But sleep soon took over

I laid down and closed my eyes

Once again a fell asleep

Once again I didn’t make the time

The next morning

I thought to pray once more

But then was called to breakfast

And did as I did before

On my way to school

I crossed a busy street

Forgot to look both ways

And soon was off my feet

On the road in pain

I heard the sirens roar

And as I looked around me

I saw my blood upon the floor

My mother cried

I hoped I was all right

But then I couldn’t speak

And everything got real white

I saw a golden gate

A saw a heavy book

I saw the Lord Jesus

I saw his saddened look

I cried to him

Lord, am I dead

Is this truly real

Or is it just my head

My child he said

This place is not your mind

But ‘tis Heaven and ‘tis the book

In which your name I have to find

He looked down, and then up

A tear trickled down his face

My Lord what’s wrong I asked

My child you’ve been misplaced

My Lord I pleaded

Where will I go

He turned and sadly said

My child you already know

But Lord it cannot be

Please don’t turn me away

I pray forgive my sins

It’s here I want to stay

Your name is not in my book

Was my dear Lord’s reply

I once was going to put it in

But I never found the time
