I fell for my best friend. I told her and it broke her heart. This is my apology.
                                                        I Miss
I miss the way you used to call
To tell me ‘bout your day
I miss the way we used to talk
         With nothing to say
I miss the way you used to call
         At noon most everyday
I miss the way we used to talk
To make each other feel okay
I miss the way you used to need me
         When someone hurt your heart
I miss the way you used to be there
         But since we’ve been apart
I’ve missed the friend I used to have
And the one I used to be
I’ve missed the things we used to do
         The places that we’d see
I’ve missed the worthless trips we’d take
         For something just to do
I’d buy you Diet Coke or Bawls
         You’d buy me Mountain Dew
I miss the way things used to be
         Before I ruined it
I miss the friend I used to see
         Not just a little bit
I just want things to fall right back
In place just how they were
The only friend that could keep me
         From running back to her
I really just want you to know
         You’ve become my best friend
I hope that with a little time
         Our friendship can mend.
