Monster in my soul

Anger is still inside of me
Creeping into my soul everyday,
Still it haunts me and calls out.
I know it wants me back.

I know it would be easier
to just give up this life,
to take my numb path
and live my the knife.

But count to ten and back again,
I see me on the floor.
With the knife in my hand
and the blood all around,
that life is me no more.

So I forget these unpleasent thoughts
and move on with the rest of my day.
Knowing well that the monster
could come out anyway.
