Somewhere

This is about a large old tree in the middle of a field that I would pass every day going to school or into town.  The field that it was in was edged by woods on two sides and there were little trees along the roads that bordered the other two sides.  Years ago someone suggested that I try to use another image than the sea to discribe the wheat since it is a image that is common.  I haven't been able to come up with any alternatives so if anyone has ideas please send them to me.

                      gather
                      along the road
                      and watch
                      a golden sea of wheat
                      surrounding
                      a solitary
                      tree
