A philosophycal poem about choices
Introductory Quote: We are not launched into existence like a shot from a gun, with its trajectory absolutely predetermined. The destiny under which we fall when we come into this world…consists in the exact contrary. Instead of imposing on us one trajectory, it imposes several, and consequently forces us to choose… To live is to feel ourselves fatally obliged to exercise our liberty, to decide what we are going to be in this world. Not for a single moment is our activity of decision allowed to rest. Even when in desperation we abandon ourselves to whatever may happen, we have decided not to decide. Jose Ortega y Gasset (1883-1955)

The Choices You Make
For every choice you make is either give or take.
And not deciding is a choice, that you can not escape.
When you can take the time to think things through,
You increase the odds that things will work out too.

The daily choice results that you get, are not always random.
For that reason alone, you should never the logic abandon.
You should focus on the end before facing the beginning,
So that you can choose wisely, and not by middling feeling.

It is in your best interest the right choice to make,
And you better think through it, for your own sake.
Life cannot be fooled, in the end you will pay.
How you gets there depends, how you pave the way.

In many ways daily, you are indirectly obligated to comply,
On how you dress, on how you drive, on how you fly.
That obligation in turn is what drives your daily life,
For days to come, years to pass, until you die.

It is then imperative that you take the time to think,
That everything you have can be gone in just a blink.
Not making the right choices can cost you great deal,
Not just your health, friends, or fortune but also a meal.

When you do not decide, you then decided not to,
And when you decide to choose randomly is just impromptu.
It is always wise to take the time to make a choice,
For it may affect your life, your time, your poise.

How you decide reveals personality whether sane, mature or bizarre,
When you create passion, tension, when you go too far.
When you decide without thinking the results of your action,
You must be prepared to face all corresponding chained reaction.

You then have no other choice but to continue choosing,
As the harshly realities of your short life continue pushing.
From your birth dawn to the time you are finally gone,
You decide whether liking it, and decided when you do not.

Your life is like a journey to an unknown destination,
Without a map, without a compass, you face certain deviation.
If you prepare a plan to reach that place afar,
You will arrive there, pass beyond, and finally reach your stars.
