love poem AUM
I’ve been learning to let you in.
Welcoming you into what I see when I look at you.
Once the defenses are down,
And there are once again smiles all around,
The world is less lonely and I never have to say “if only you knew”.
We are free to be!
We are Free!
Now that you’ve seen into me, and I’ve been in you,
We can at last move on into the next question, being “Who are you?”
What, how, and best of all why, can be as endless as the sky,
But only if you and I allow each other through the thorn-paths we institute,
To protect our selves against those who would do us harm.
The world is cruel, harsh, and cold, to all those but the bold.

So up we build wide ramparts for seclusion,
We install moats and guard towers,
Set booby traps, cover pitfalls, hide snares,
And build secret passages in case of emergency,
All to hide behind because we fear someone getting near.

Then in you come both Hero-Knight and merciless Invader.
You drop your armor as a measure of good faith,
Then gallop in on your trusty white steed.
You raze to the ground all that was built around,
My magnificent fortress, my castle gates,
Laid to waste in one magnificent show of faith.
Once the walls are downed, and my guard laid low,
What do you, my wood-be invader, do?
Nothing less than help rebuild,
Not with thick barricades of mortar and dirt,
But gardens of blooms, and a home made of truth.

No longer will I wall in my city for protection from all,
For now it will forever be my homage to thee,
While I stand behind thy glory flowing.
