When I first met my wife 36 years ago. She was to be a blind date for my best friend.
The Blind Date
One confused LIFE,
Oh! How it can change,
Tell you my wife,
Fate did arrange.

You saw me in your dream,
You knew it would be,
From your heart came a scream,
When you first saw me.

I wasn’t supposed to come,
You were not my date,
I’ll thank my God from now on,
He came; it was not too late.

As you remember,
A date of marriage in the plan,
A girl described as fire,
Was to complete me as a man.

Then came that night,
You were to meet him,
(I knew it wasn’t right,)
The date with my best friend.

On your couch I did sit,
As he sat on the floor,
A flame in my heart was lit,
When you came through that door.

From the beginning,
You must know,
Like a playful sea lion,
My dance of love began to grow.

Intimate loving you did expect,
Your experience was that course,
With anticipation we did neck,
But verbal was our intercourse.

I did want to Know you,
And “Tonight’s the night” you did say,
You did want me, Too,
The first night we were to lay. {:blush}

The mystery of the Lord,
In His beautiful plan,
We fell into His accord,
With the seed of our little man.

“I would rather love you”
Sung by Country Charlie Pride,
My life I almost blew,
As my love for you I tried to hide.

A new song I have to sing,
Mary, I love you,
Let your lovely heart cling,
When I sing, “When I said, I do.”
