This is a short chapter following the 1st intro ch. It explains Rose's family a bit more.
As I was walking to school one Tuesday morning, I passed by the brown house with the yellow 'Police Line Do Not Cross' tapes around the perimeter. It was hard to believe these people still lived there. It seemed as though the house had been abandoned. It had been almost a month after the big issue and the police tape still remained. There were still rumors going around that the house was the site of a crime scene, but when they were asked what crime, there was no response other than a blank face and if you were lucky you would get a shoulder shrug.

It hit me by surprise when I heared of the trouble on 1100 Aquifer Ln. It was such a quiet street. Their lives seemed so normal. Heck, their lives seemed rather perfect. I hadn't seen Rose in quite a while. I still remember when we were in Elemantary together and the little girl in blonde pigtails ran to her father that awaited for her at the bus stop with her ballet shoes in his hand. Their lives seemed flawless. I even think that I asked my mom for ballet lessons after watching Rose sprinting lively in her bright pink tutu each weekday afternoon. Rose's family was the type of family that put up Christmas decorations every year. Different ones too. One year it was a trail of Reindeer followed by a giant snowman the next. They were the family that gave out the most halloween candy and the family with the most cars in the driveway on Thanksgiving. All my life I thought they were the typical family- maybe more than that.

This made me wonder even more what could possibly be the trouble on the 1100 blk. Aquifer Ln.
