A poem about embracing death and letting him carry you to an eternal sleep.
Courting Death

Marble hands caress my face as
Stone lips steal my kisses.
Oh, where art thou, my love?
For these ivory fangs that
Pierce my heart are not yours.
When Death comes to whisper
In my ear, will you be there?
These arms like steel bands
Wrap around me and steal my breath.
Death is now my true lover
For he does take the very life from me.
During my last moments, you came to aid me.
When Death pushes back his black hood
It is your beautiful face I see.
So it seems that Death hath
Courted me these past few months.
Take me now my love, and
I shall go fearlessly and peacefully.
