A poem for my Mom before she checks into rehab |
To My Mom I was grateful after I spoke with you the other day You informed me that you want to live your life a new way You want to be free from the demon that holds you in bondage I am hopeful in God you will no longer be its hostage I want you to know that I understand you are hurting You look at your life and feel nothing is working It grieves my soul that you have suffered for so long Please mommy promise me that you will try to remain strong What you are doing takes a lot of courage Just take your time and don't get discouraged If you start to feel scared while you are away Just remember that I will be praying for you every day I know this must be the hardest thing you will ever do But if you trust in God, He will see you through I don't want you to worry about a single thing Just think about what you are doing and the good it will bring The most important thing I want to say in all Is that I love you no matter how many times you fall I am thankful to have you as my mother I would never trade you in for another I shall think of you while you are away And will ask God to hold your hand every day Please believe that what I am saying is true And remember mommy, I will always love you Love, Your little girl |
