A poem for a friend.
Your heart is broken, pieces around,
No words to say, no feelings to be found.
He says everything you like to hear,
I miss you, I love you, only you my dear.

You hope it’s true love, true love at last,
You hope it’s not going to be like one of the past.
Smiling, laughing with another girl, from what you can see,
It’s not happening, it’s not, this is not how it’s supposed to be.

You find yourself betrayed, tattered and torn,
Lost in a lovers embrace or so you had sworn.
What a jerk, what a…you stop in the middle,
You know there’s no way you will play second fiddle.

You’re friends try to help, and try to they do,
You know in the end, it’s all up to you.
To leave him will hurt you, lost in the fact,
But maybe this whole time he just put on an act.

To be with him, now, that will hurt more,
To watch him with others will become your chore.
You cry a tear and pick up the phone,
You call a good friend, you are not alone.

Whatever the time, day, noon or night,
Whatever scares, terrifies or give you a fright.
I’m here today, here, right close beside,
Around me, no, you have nothing to hide.
