A poem about an emotion difficult to understand but impossible to ignore. |
IT MUST BE LOVE How was I to know I’d be the one you chose To lean upon in times of strain To confide in about your pain I wish I was the person you think I am As hard as I try I just don’t think I can Be the person you want me to be Add another branch to your family tree I listen to your heart Try to help you start On the road to happiness Which begins at forgiveness You say that every time you see my face Everytime you hear my voice It feels like you belong And all the pressures in your life All the painful memories Just seem to fade away Deep down I know I feel the same But also I know love is not the same And I just don’t think the circumstances Will this relationship the chances It should have to be fair But hey, I’ll always be there I never said I want to leave With you, how could I leave Cause every time I see your face Every time I hear your voice I feel like I belong And all the pressures in my life All the painful memories Just seem to fade away Maybe together we will find We can leave this life behind Move on to better things In love true happiness rings Start again away from it all No longer feel the need to crawl I’m willing to try anything for you Cause that’s just what true lovers do I’ll give my all and not turn back From being there somewhere along the track In love my friend I’ll never change But rather simply adjust the range Cause every time we are together Just wish it could last forever Somehow it feels so right When all the pressures of our lives All the painful memories Fade into the distance It must be love… |
