The abuse of a young child.
TEARS

Tears fall from her face
like broken rain drops
they hit the ground as tears of fear
she sits there at night
in the dark corner of her bedroom
a light laminating
from under her door
she sits in fear
that a dark, massive creature
will come back for her
to hit her, to injure her
to make her beg for him to stop
As she sits there in the corner,
she sees the light from under her door
flash and her body starts to tremble
She gets up and runs for her bed
and hides under the covers.
She feels safe and unharmed.
But then she hears the door open
and she starts crying
as he throws the covers back
she screams "NO daddy, no more Please."
And he strokes her hair and says
"I'm sorry I won't do it anymore baby."
And she looks at him
and trusts he means it this time.
She wraps her arms around him
and he hugs her for a sec then
he says I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry!
He lays her down and covers her up with
her blankets and tucks her and kisses her forehead,
and says goodnight my baby.
She closes her eyes
and then she feels pressure on her face
and then she can't breathe,
she starts kicking, and scratching, and begging.
After a couple of minutes go by
she lays still.
Her lifeless body mangled in the covers.
Her father takes the pillow off her face
and places it under her head
then shuts the door and leaves.
After five or ten minutes a shot rings out
from the bedroom down the hall.
And then a big thud.
As he hits the ground.
In the morning she wakes standing next to mommy.
They look down on the house and they see cop cars
in front and two people come out of the house
pushing a bed with a large lifeless body
under a white sheet.
And the girl says "look mommy its daddy"
And her lifeless body lying under a white sheet
being loaded up into a van and being
raced of to the hospital.
And she says mommy is that me?"
Mommy takes her daughters hand
and says yes as they both walk through
the golden gates.
No more being harmed.
