The importance of Annual Day

"The Annual Day Function"

The annual day function,
Amass all the students, parents and teachers at a junction,
The students waiting anxiously for the results,
Their hearts racing faster with the pace of time and shudders,
Looking at each other and biting their nails,
Praying that,they may not fail,

Ah! At last the time has arrived,
1st, second and third,
But where is my result?
Some are awarded with the distinctions,
And some with the prizes
Others, longing to have the same,
Or at least a recognition prize,
Standing amidst the crowd,
Wishing, that if they had worked hard as well through out the year,
Would have also been standing amongst the position holders making their parents proud
But dear students! Better luck next time as the annual day function
Comes only once a year
And awards the students who really deserve congratulations.
