Sometimes saying less is more (meaning I don't feel like writing a description)
As you walked by, you saw me
sitting under a tree with bent legs
crossing my eyes.

You smiled as you meandered past-
a crooked smile, I recall-
and when you turned your head to stare,
I noticed you had a lazy eye.

My lips turned up in a smile
and I tried to speak,
but my words were jumbled.

You tried to impress me by clicking your heels,
but your feet got tangled
and you tumbled on top of me.

Your laughter wrapped around my own
as we laid in a heap of each other.

We are entwined, you and I,
nut and bolt
perfectly threaded together.

Our fingers interlace
as we hold hands
and gaze at the twisted world.
