At first he doesn't remember his crime. He begins to remember. In the end he goes mad.
Being held in a cell
In a dungeon full of hate
Awaiting my execution
Is this my fate?

Locked in a spell
I lay staring
Wondering, dreaming
Can I escape?

I hear the groans
I hear the screams
I think to myself
Why am I here?

I begin to wonder
If what they say is true
For I cannot recollect
What crime did I commit?

I awaken from my thoughts
Faint whispers I hear
Coming ever closer
What are they saying?

I cannot make out the words
As the figure draws nearer
I hear the rustle of keys
Is it my turn to die?

The smell of a thousand deaths
Grows ever stronger
Suddenly the screaming stops
How much longer have I?

The flicker of a candle
The whistling of the wind
I wait forever impatiently
Will they come for me?

I begin to remember
Scenes of horror fill my head
I try to shut them out
Could this be real?

The night grows colder
The darkness grows thicker
Feverishly I begin to shiver
Have I done these wicked things?

Time passes by ever slowly
These sounds I hear
Becoming ever louder
How can one stand such noise?

The screams have resumed
The figure moves ever closer
My anticipation mounts
Is it my time yet?

My life flashes before me
Never before have I felt
So restless, I cannot bear
Oh why won't they hurry?

The figure approaches
Grasping the keys in hand
The screaming grows louder
Am I ready for this?

The end must be near
For they have come for me
The groans and screams I hear
Could they be mine?
