Talk To Me
Talk to me of sorrows that lie in the heart
and I will listen intentively
for I have known great sorrow too
I will not; cannot carry the burden
and bear it away from you;
but like the rain that falls
out of the dark sky; replenishing, cool
I could relieve your mind; temporarily
tell me of fears that haunt at night
for I have known and seen fear too
I will not seek out the ghosts
for they are not mine to see or know
but like the sun that shines
enlighting and warm; a rebirth of life
speak to me of many things:
your secrets are safe with me -
don't expect me to change your mind
the only power to do all that lies
still within your very heart and soul
