No matter the Distance, nor the time, she is always by his side....
By His Side

He sat at the end of the river bank where the water flowed over the rocks near the swallow end of the pond.

With his feet dangling into the cool water, he leaned back using his hands for support and closed his eyes.

As he sat and listen to the sounds that surrounded him and with each new sound that he heard, he heard her voice.

As she called out his name through the rustling leaves, a warm breeze blew across his face and with each new breeze that he felt, he felt her touch.

As she touched his face, he opened his eyes and watched the passing clouds and with each new cloud that he saw, he saw her face.

As his mind traveled through their Past, Living in the Present and Dreaming of the Future, she remains the subject of his Dreams, Wishes and Desires.

It doesn't matter how much time has passed, nor the distance that keeps them apart, his heart belongs to her as he carries her soul next to his.

He walked along the water's edge gazing into the mirrored water and again hears her voice and feels her touch. He sees her face appear from the image of the clouds next to his and he smiles back at her.

A red-tail hawk flies over-head and chipmunks play among the tree stumps while butterflies float among the wild flowers that covered the ground, unaware of their presence.

As he turns and starts back up the well-worn path, still feeling the warmth of her smile, he thinks about the moments that they have shared, the anticipation of that first kiss, the days that could have gone on forever and the years that have grown into a lifetime of memories.

The blue bird day gives way to the moon lit night and the sky is filled with the wonderment colors of the cool fall night.

Their moments may have changed to days and the days to years, but just as strong as their first kiss, his love for her remains.... Always and Forever.
