“Invisible Wings”

A light broke through a window

It touched my face tenderly

A sound echoed, so hollow

It never fades, so deadly

Time almost never stand still

So immobile, yet so quick

Life can be so cruel, ‘till

Fate may send someone, so sleek

She’s a woman of greatness

So bold, yet filled with beauty

No wings for flight, a goddess

Too Holy, grand, too pretty

We met by fate’s decision

Star-crossed on tonight’s dark sky

No doubt, no hesitation

We shan’t descend, we shall fly

But there are no wings for flight

No feather for wind to flay

The worthy learns that this sight

Ain’t easy for one to play

When times get hard, then hopeless

An angel comes for rescue

Quick, yet without wings, unless

There’s something else, right on cue

I hear no sound, no ringing

I have gone deaf, not able

My eyes were closed, quite fleeting

This ain’t something but fable

“Sorry” was never the word

Yet she said it like singing

A song of no joy, unheard

Of, yet hearts overflowing

A tear trickled down my cheek

When at last I saw the sight

View of Beauty's very peak

With it, gone shall be the plight

Sprouting from Eve’s back, it shines

Glistening white like snow

A pair of wings that is thine

Outstretching like some mad crow

I saw it, more than ever!

At last the sight was now mine

I held her strongly, never

Gonna let go, my grip’s thine

Your hand slipped off mine. Oh world!

Why the cruelty, oh why?

She flew with white wings unfurled

Gazing down toward my eyes

Light enveloped her tightly

Like a cocoon, she suspends

In the air, ready to flee

Her purity, with light, blends

Now it’s eating her slowly

Like a snake eating his prey

She knows she shall move freely

Never shall she be astray

I snapped back, when darkness fell

To life I so lovely tend

There’s the sound, such tale it tells

Such never fades, never ends
