There is a monster in Anna's closet! Her Aunt Lori has a solution.

Anna had a monster in her closet. She knew he was there. No matter where she was he was always there. He was at Grandpa's house under the bed. He was at Daddy's in the closet. He was at her friend Ashley's house hiding in the curtains. Anna was very very afraid of her monster in the closet.
He was tall and fat and all dressed in black. He had long arms with long grabbing fingers. He had glowing yellow eyes and a pumpkin for a head! So Anna called him, Punkinhead.
Every night she saw him every night she screamed. Every night Someone came running to see. But no one saw him.

They tried everything to get rid of him. Mommy Yelled and shook her broom and there was a lot of noise in the closet. But Punkinhead just came back.
Daddy rolled up his sleeves and said he would throw Punkinhead out. He stomped into the closet and there was a lot of pounding on the walls. But Punkinhead still came back.
She had her dog Clyde sniff in the curtains and under the bed. She even let Clyde sleep in her room. But Punkinhead still hung around.
She took a flashlight to bed but that didn't scare him and Clyde didn't want to sleep with her anymore. Grandma made a special blanket and told her it was magic so she could hide from Punkinhead. But he was still there.
Poor Anna. She didn't like having such a scary monster in her closet. Punkinhead followed her everywhere and would not go away. He would not go away until one day.
One-day Anna's Aunt Lori came from far way. It was Christmas and Aunt Lori brought presents and a cousin named Celeste to play with too. She couldn't wait to spend time with her very special niece. She wanted Anna to come spend the night with her and Celeste.
Well that night Anna cuddled into the little bed and tried to close her eyes but there was Punkinhead sneaking over the windowsill. Anna closed her eyes tight and pretended to be asleep. She opened one eye and peeked and there was Punkinhead looming in the dark. She covered her head and screamed as loud as she could. There was a bang and Aunt Lori came running into the room.
"What? What?" She asked" Anna what's wrong?'
"Punkinhead Aunt Lori, Punkinhead is going to get me."
Well. That was the end of that. Celeste wasn’t sleeping in there with some monster creeping around even if Anna WAS there with her. So Anna and Celeste crawled into bed with Aunt Lori just for tonight. Anna didn't see Punkinhead anymore that night but she knew he was waiting for her in the other room. Anna shivered and cuddled up to Aunt Lori and went to sleep.
The next day the sun was shining and the snow was thick on the ground. Anna and Celeste went outside and played. They made snow angels and snowmen. They slid on their sleds and rolled in the stuff.
When they came in for lunch Mamma was there. Anna hugged her tight and kissed her too. And said she didn't want to go home yet.
"After lunch and I visit with Aunt Lori for a while" Mamma said, "You still have time to play."
And away they ran to wash their hands for lunch.
After lunch Aunt Lori said she had a surprise.
Anna and Celeste hopped in their seats excitedly.
"What is it? What is it? "They asked.
Aunt Lori went into the kitchen and came out with a pie.
"It's pie!" They exclaimed "It's pie! Yea!"
"This isn't just any pie can you guess what kind it is?"
"Apple?" asked Mamma.
"Cherry?" asked Celeste
I know I know,” said Anna, "It smells like Pumpkin!"
"Wrong" Said Aunt Lori, "It's Pumpkin HEAD pie!"
And everyone had a piece of Aunt Lori’s delicious Pumkinhead pie with whip cream. Anna had the biggest piece. After that she never heard from Pumkinhead again. Did Aunt Lori REALLY make him into a pie or did she just scare him away? No one knows. Either way Anna slept much better after that. Don't YOU wish you had an aunt who could do that?

THE END
