A queen and a general, a poem and a story, how you like it. |
Thank you for the love Thank you for the queen Thank you for the blood Thank you for the fiends His isn't hers To the end we shall fight Together forever Who's blood is spilled tonight? The friends, the foes, The love forever All the armies collect Soldiers returning never. The Queen, her compassion Her joy, her wit She cares for all, But on her throne she sits. For fear? For love? No one really cares Long live the queen Hurt her if you dare. You dare? You die. We are loyal, one and all. I command, I kill. But I, too have my flaws. Thank you for the sword Thank you for the queen Thank you for the blood Thank you for the fiends They respect me, And to us both they will serve For I shall win the battle, It's a victory well deserved But to their families at home, What if they return? We have won! We have won! But what have I learned? I am a loner, But not a fraud and not a lie. I fight for myself? No, but I'll win or I'll die. The Queen, she knows this. But does she let it show? And would she care, If she knew what I know? I know of her love, Lost long ago in war. He fought hard, he fought strong But God closed her door. Thank you for the sword Thank you for the queen Thank you for the blood Thank you for the fiends Together, we rule This land of the strong. Her power, my will, And a spirit long gone. Thank you for the sword Thank you for the queen Thank you for the blood Thank you for the fiends |
