I wrote this poem a few years ago when I realized that racism and prejudice still occurs.
Look into my eyes
do you see what I see?

an intelligent strong black woman
or someone who should be my slave

Look into my eyes
do you see what I see?

a young black woman in school
or a black woman who's causing trouble

Look into my eyes
do you see what I see?

a black woman with a job
or a black woman who should be scrubbing my toilet

Is it true
or is just me
with all the prejudices and racisms in the world
you will never be able to see
Is it you
or is it me
Look into my eyes
what do you see?
