God's House

I tried to find the House of God
But my directions were unclear
I could not tell which path to take
For my map was slightly smeared

But my compass was not broken
And my heart was only true
And though I stumbled time to time
I took each step for You.

I reached a place they told me
I could stay and fill my cup
But I knew their wells were empty
And my time was nearly up

For I needed just to find this place
This House of God quite soon
For the outside world was ailing
And I knew His house could soothe

The healing hand of my good Lord
Could cover all the earth
If only I could find this place
And wrap it in His mirth
