Can't erase past mistakes. |
Life's Sharpie By Tim Burton You spoke it out, thinking you were taking a careful step But what you really done was spoke piercing words of death And now people are playing them over and being fataly mislead It can't be undone, the damage stays, despite what you said You try to open the book of your life And erase the parts you didn't mean to write This is forever your life But you forgot that you used a permanent marker And the words won't come off even if you try harder It is here to always stay You keep trying to erase, leaving scratches and scars But the words, events and mistakes shine brighter than stars Can't gouge it out with a knife The more you try to make it all better, it becomes a worse story You still fail to realise that you can make it all better and not worry No matter what you may say You can't erase the past These are impressions to last You forget that you write your story And you hold the writing tool Not him, her, she or he Take hold and don't be a fool Don't dwell in the old chapters of your book Not the mistakes or good chances you took You are yet to fill the blank pages Whether it be great things or lost wages We all have regrets we are sending But you alone can write a happy ending Be sure to read othe poems I may post in my potfolio, or read my blog named "my writings" at www.myspace.com/starstorm_2000 |
