Have we not had enough! |
Too often over the past few weeks and months, I have been on the receiving end of bad news. News that, not only has the potential to change my thoughts on how I live my life, but, that has the power to force me to change how I live my life. And, it's not just on a personal level that bad news is rife. On the radio we hear that a child was shot or a baby was raped. Then, in the same breath, we talk about the human rights of the criminals that commit these heinous crimes. What's it all about!?! We live in times where evilness is rampant in the very governments that we are meant to depend on for safety and sanity. Where we can't even defend ourselves, or our families for fear of violent repercussions. The value of life in these times is such that, terrorists are content to kill innocents as a way of showing allegiance to their religious beliefs. But think about this, while their crimes are despicable, is their dedication to their cause not commendable? Why is it that our dedication to the 'stop the violence cause' or the 'no knives cause' pales so abysmally in comparison! It is no longer enough, for us to be disgusted or disgraced by the actions of the few because, by doing nothing, the few will become many! Haven't we had enough of reading tear-jerking headlines dedicated to our loved ones!? There are no isolated incidents. It is a culture that, at the moment, we are powerless to stop. Without your help and support, we cannot hope to challenge the rise of violence on our streets and the unnecessary killings of our friends & family members. We turn a blind eye to the sadness that rocks the world of others because it does not affect us. But that sadness will, at some point, rock our world. Do something now! Don't wait until it touches your life personally, to make the effort to change it. There is no reason to wait.
