This is my first item in my portfolio. I decided to try out a contest by stormy lady.
Talking with Flowers

Bored?

Sit and talk awhile
Among the soft petals
Glistening in the morning dew

Listen to their speedy lives
From their seedy childhood
To their quick brittle deaths

A flower has much to say
Just sit still in the bright sun
Close your eyes and imagine

To talk to a flower
Is easy enough
Look at it

Go ahead, yell
Complain about mother
And those pesky mosquitoes

But to truly talk to a flower
One must listen first
Feel their conversation

Do not rely on sight
Your eyes will deceive you
But your heart will not

Soon you will find yourself
Immersed in a conversation
Too fascinating

Too stimulating
Too charming
To have that cloud

Of boredom hanging
Ominously
Over you

Bored?

Go talk to a flower
