Thank you soldiers for doing what you do!
Thank God I’m a Soldier’s wife

We were walking next to the waters edge,
An Eagle was perched nearby on a ledge.
In a brief moment he flew out of sight.
High up in the sky, the sun was shining bright.
I stopped to thank the Lord, my lips started to quiver.
The sun sparkled across the river.
I thanked the Lord for the man in my life.
I thanked the Lord that I was a Soldier’s wife.

Lord you gave me a man that knows how to work hard.
His family and country he will guard.
I will never regret the day I said I do.
Lord you gave me a man that is honest and true.
I took my husbands hand, and said thank you.
Thank you for doing all that you do.
He said I don’t do much, day by day I get through.
I just do what I know how to do.

We turned to see the water cascading down the rocks.
We heard a woodpecker’s knock.
I took my husband and hugged him tight.
We looked up to see the Eagle in flight.

I thanked the Lord for soldiers, which say I will.
Thank you soldiers, for the jobs that you fulfill!
Thank you soldiers for doing what you do.
You are soldiers, you are honest and true.
Thank you again Lord for giving me, the man in my life!
Thank you Lord for making me a soldier’s wife!
My husband and I turned to walk away.
We knew we had a love that was here to stay!
