All she wanted was the end of her nightmare.
All She Wanted

He seemed to be a gentleman, played the part well
But the evil lurked underneath, she could not tell
So he stole her, he killed her, she died that day
Her heart beat on, but her soul had been slain
Her spirit was shattered, broken, lost
Yet her body continued and began to move on

But the nightmare was paused, far from over
The terror continued, kept coming closer
She prayed for the end, it had gone on too long
The fight had continued and the pain had not stopped

She knew he was coming, but certainly did not wish
There was no avoiding, it was simply a fact
He would come, it would be horrible but then it would end
It was not what she wanted but she had no choice
There was no point in fighting back, she accepted her fate

But she kept glancing over her shoulder, the fear was still there
Her terror kept growing, her mind kept slipping
And all the while he was hunting, stalking, coming

And then he grabbed her, right off of the street
She was screaming, he was smiling and got right to work
But an ignorant young officer came and stopped it
The officer fought him, shot him, he died
And there she lay smiling, it was all over

But then the dog barked and she woke with a start
She started to cry, it would have been lovely but it was only a dream
But then the door opened and there he was

He came to her.

She smiled.
