Thoughts that pass through the mind of a guy at a bar, as he watches a particular girl.
2:35 AM

I looked at my watch near that time of the night,
Where the bottles fall dark but the stars still bright,
The drunk stumble home during hangover season,
But I stick around for a subconscious reason,
And then she walked in through the door,
A figure I haven’t had the pleasure before,
To look upon closely but so far away,
A passionate aurora that begs me to stay,
I watch as she walks and sways her hips,
That red, velvet dress that matches her lips,

2:45 AM

Ten minutes pass as she makes me relapse,
A line of cocaine for her attention perhaps,
Snorted through the nose like the scent of her perfume,
Craving the addiction as it slowly fills the room,
Her beer bottle lying right next to me,
The lipstick around the top that I’m dying to be,

2:50 AM

I just can’t rely on the unknowing trust,
Every second passes and I’m further into lust,
I gotta make my move and I gotta do it soon,
The bar’s about to close and I’m stuck within the tune,
Of her divine voice as she dances on the table,
Tons of drooling guys who I know are quite unable,
To hook up with that angel with wings that grasp me,
No one-night stands because she’s much too classy,
But I know I haven’t got the chance,
She knows that she’s the queen in this pile of swarming ants,

3:00 AM

Everybody’s gone, but my pain is still alive,
A place of forget and loneliness is where I always drive,
I want to see that girl again and don’t know what to do,
All I have to treasure is her red, high-heeled shoe,
She left it behind when she stumbled out the door,
I had to pick it up because it led me wanting more,
I wish that I can walk away, but I think that I should stay,
I’ll wait for the tears to dry and pray,
Maybe someday, maybe someday,

2:35 AM....
