Trick or Treat Spring

The sound was unmistakable
Right in the midst of Spring
I could say unpredictable
But, it's New England's thing

The cackle of a witches laugh
Upon her silly broom
With huge gigantic feathered flakes
She spreads her winter gloom

The sunshine and the tulips
I just saw yesterday
The gentle warmth that was the sun
Her broomstick swept away

She stole the Spring beneath my feet
And covered it with white
Spring colors just have disappeared
She's hidden them from sight

The lovely Spring I waited for
Is cursed in snowy blight
As the wicked witch of Springtime
Continues on her flight
